In the past few days, #lovejihadisreal is going on a trend. The people of different mentalities and reviews are controverting it. On the one hand, some think an established Islamic organization is purposely doing this. On the other hand, some say that it’s all about one’s freedom of religion. But the actual meaning of Love Jihad has not been cleared.
WHAT IS LOVE JIHAD?
It is also known as “Romeo Jihad,” is a theory that says Muslim men target women belonging to non-Muslim communities for conversion to Islam by feigning love. Instead of genuine marital bliss, these girls get trapped in a web of deceit. And frequently end up in the hands of Islamic extremist organizations.
UTTAR PRADESH CM YOGI ADITYANATH’S REACTION OVER IT:
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath directed senior Home Department officials to prepare a plan to stop this incident and also see whether a new law is required, his media adviser Mrityunjay Kumar stated.
According to officials, the direction came after multiple incidents reported from Kanpur, Meerut, and a recent one in Lakhimpur Kheri. The police claims there is evidence that the women were being forced to convert and marry.
AFTER YOGI, HARYANA MINISTER ANIL VIJ SPOKE:
Vij said that the Haryana government is thinking of a law against “love jihad.” Home Minister Anil Vij said his government would bring legislation to deal with it. “Haryana is contemplating a law against love jihad.”

AFTER UP AND HARYANA, KARNATAKA’S YEDIYURAPPA CAME FORWARD:
In Karnataka, Chief Minister Yediyurappa directly said that whether other states have taken a decision or not, I am not bothered. But, in my country, I want to make a decision as early as possible. I have already discussed this with senior officers. I want to ban that in Karnataka.
DECISION MADE BY ALLAHABAD HIGH COURT:
The Allahabad High Court said that religious conversion isn’t necessary for marriage. The government will also work to curb it; we’ll enact a strict law. I warn those who conceal their identity and play with the honor of our sisters and daughters, if you don’t mend your ways, your ‘Ram Naam Satya’ journey will begin.”
KERELA CHRISTIAN BODY RAISES VOICE AGAINST LOVE JIHAD:
An influential body of Christian bishops has raised concern over rising cases of “love jihad” in Kerala, alleging that it puts “societal peace” at risk.
“It is a matter of concern that ‘love jihad’ is on the rise in Kerala, posing danger to secular harmony and societal peace in the state. ” The Syro Malabar Synod in Kochi said in a press statement today,also claiming that Christian women were being killed and used for terrorist activities by extremist elements.
Kavita Krishnan denies to acknowledge ‘love jihad’ cases:
Refusing to acknowledge the rampant cases of “love jihad,” Krishnan further added that she researched and claimed extensively. Moreover, it is yet to stumble upon a single case where the claims have been vindicated. She went ahead to rant against the NCW chief, calling her a “bigot.”
