Today on 19th February, we celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Chhatra means having a royal umbrella held over the head of an Emperor. Shivaji Maharaj was known as the father of the Indian navy and father of merchants of the Indian navy. He believed that ‘Jiska Jaahaz ussi ka Samundar aur Satta’. Britishers used to laugh at Shivaji Maharaj’s strategy to handle and expand the Indian navy. But later after witnessing the success of the Indian navy under the supervision and guidance of Shivaji Maharaj, the Britishers too started to realize that designs of Indian Ships are way too strong & superior. So they started to copy the same for their ships too. We all know how important our personal data is in today’s era and how our data can be sold and purchased. Shivaji Maharaj was a far-sighted king and he knew the importance of data in his period.

He had built a very strong spy team who used to keep all the confidential data recorded and also purchase the data of the opponent so that they can pre-plan their strategy against them. He never used to believe in any black magic, superstition, untouchability, casteism, and much more such factors which were a hindrance in unity. He mapped & counted out the entire field for farmers growing their crops and according to which he reduced the unnecessary taxes on the farmer and helped them strengthen their agriculture work. He was always proud of what our motherland has blessed us all with. He led the stone of Hindvi Swaraj and even got succeed in it. Actually, it was his father who used to write ‘SWA’ daily on the wall, and once Shivaji Maharaj saw it, he came forward to complete the unfinished word and dream of his father i.e ‘SWARAJ’.

He used to examine the reason behind how weapons should be shaped according to the size of the soldiers in his army so that they could fight more efficiently. He was a great leader and used to believe in teamwork & giving equal credits to all his teammates. He never bowed before any Mughal or afghan or anyone who tried to destroy our motherland. There’s a lot more to appreciate & tribute about Shivaji Maharaj. Even Hitler mentioned, “Netaji your country does not require any Hitler to throw out Britishers. All you need to teach is Shivaji Maharaj’s history” in one of his meeting with Netaji.

“Jay Hindvi Swaraj, Jay Maa Bhavani” was his slogan to success.
